    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The PT-76 was a Soviet amphibious light tank that was introduced in the early 1950s. It became the standard reconnaissance tank of the Soviet Army and other Warsaw Pact armed forces and was also used in fire support roles. Its amphibious capability was central for reconnaissance units and water obstacles. The PT-76B was introduced in 1959 and brought, among other things, a stabilized D-56TS gun and CBRN protection.
