Product details

Background & context

The T-54 was a Soviet post-war main battle tank, with its first production versions appearing from the late 1940s onwards. The T-54-2 went into production in 1949, followed by the T-54-3 in 1951 with a new turret and a TDA smoke generator. The T-54A and T-54B introduced stabilizers, night vision and infrared equipment, respectively, as well as other modernizations. The T-54/55 family became one of the most widely produced tank series and remained in service with many armies.

On the tabletop

For Cold War games in 28 mm the T-54 is the standard tank of the Soviet Army and the Warsaw Pact, including the East German NVA. You build it as the T-54-2 of 1949 with its overhanging turret rear, as the T-54-3, as the T-54A with a stabilised gun or as the T-54B with two-plane stabilisation and infrared night vision, the latter in early, mid or late production. That way you set the years your unit represents. A DShK machine gun and crew are included.
