    Product details

    Background & context

Developed from 1943, the Centurion entered production in January 1945. Six prototypes reached Belgium shortly after the end of the war in Europe, but the tank first saw combat in the Korean War. The Centurion Mk 3 featured the 20-pdr gun, while the Mk 5 received, among other things, modified machine gun mounts and turret details. The design remained in production into the 1960s and was used worldwide in numerous post-war conflicts.

    On the tabletop

The Centurion is Britain's main battle tank of the post-war era, first used in the Korean War. With the 20-pounder gun it combines firepower, armour and mobility, so you field it as the strongest vehicle of your British or Australian force. The Mk 3 still has a 2-inch mortar in the turret, while the Mk 5 carries Browning machine guns and an extra stowage bin instead. Side skirts, open hatches and the commander are optional.
