Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

These three figures show Vikings from the late Viking Age, when mail shirts and Dane axes were part of the kit of royal levies. In Hail Caesar you use them to fill out a unit or mix them into a larger war band. Fitting battles are the campaigns of Cnut the Great, who ruled England, Denmark and Norway, or Harald Hardrada's expedition of 1066 that ended at Stamford Bridge. Anglo-Saxon levies are the opponents to set up against them.
