Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

USS Constitution was one of the six heavy frigates with which the young US Navy aimed to outclass any frigate of equal rating and outsail ships of the line. That is exactly how you sail her in Black Seas: with 44 guns and a thick hull you take on enemy frigates and slip away from heavier ships. Her nickname Old Ironsides dates from the War of 1812, when she defeated Guerriere and Java. The war against the Barbary corsairs off Tripoli offers further scenarios.
