Product details

Background & context

In 793 Norsemen raided the monastery on Lindisfarne, the event usually taken as the start of the Viking Age. Over the next three centuries Scandinavian warriors plundered the coasts of Europe, and later their fleets conquered whole countries and founded their own realms. The Battle of Hastings in 1066 is generally seen as the end of the era.

On the tabletop

This book lets you raise a warband from one of twelve factions of the Viking Age, such as Vikings, Jomsvikings, Anglo-Saxons, Normans, Irish or Welsh. Each faction plays with its own Battle Board, where you place your SAGA dice, and brings its own special units and special rules. Mercenaries round out your warband, and relics and artefacts give your warlord extra options. You play it with the SAGA rulebook.
