X is the multi-legged walker variant of the tried-and-tested Wehrmacht standard tank - following the success of the Spinne, the Panzer IV chassis was quickly mounted on six legs to establish walker troops as an interim solution while dedicated designs like the Wotan went into mass production. Armed optionally with the standard 75mm turret or the Heavy Field Projector, it bridges the gap between tank and walker doctrine.
