    Product details

    Background & context

The Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate was among the most powerful Japanese fighter aircraft of World War II and represented a significant leap in the development of the Imperial Air Force. With a combination of high top speed, heavy armament, and excellent maneuverability, it could face Allied models on equal terms. Between 1943 and 1945, over 3,500 units of this type were produced. The Ki-84 was deployed on numerous fronts in the final phase of the Pacific War and was considered a formidable opponent by enemy pilots.

    On the tabletop

The Ki-84 Hayate was Japan's fastest fighter of the war, heavily armed and very agile, and over 3,500 were built between 1943 and 1945. In Blood Red Skies it gives you a late-war army squadron to put up against Allied fighters, and its cards include Great Climb and Tight Turn traits plus the Aggressive Tactics doctrine. Poor Quality stands for bad fuel and manufacturing flaws in the final years. Bases, tokens and decals are included.
