While the most fanatical ENR soldiers join the Legio Aquila, many loyal soldiers choose to join the Centurion Heavy Armoured Grenadier Battalions. The Panzerharnisch-46(i) 'Centurion' armour is modelled after Roman centurions and symbolises the identity of the New Republic of Italy Armed Forces. Armed with assault rifles and light ballistic shields, the Centurion Heavy Armoured Grenadier serves as a rapid reaction force.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the '47 conflict universe, after the division of Italy, the ENR (Esercito Nazionale Repubblicano) recognized its heavy tank deficiencies and opted for an original approach: instead of funding its own Rift-Tech research, it adopted the German Heavy Armour program in the form of the Panzerharnisch 46(i) 'Centurio' - a variant specifically developed for the Italians with the silhouette of a Roman Centurion. Deployed at company level per battalion as a reaction force, the Italian Centurio-wielders distinguished themselves as some of the most fanatical proponents of the Axis cause. Armed with assault rifles and light ballistic shields, they fought bitter private wars with their Allied counterparts along the Gustav Line - earning respect from friend and foe alike.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Italian Centurion Heavy Infantry Squad is the Italian power-armour variant: 8 models in Centurion heavy armour. In the game, they act as a tough front-line unit with Tough/Slow Special Rules - similar to German Swordsmen, but with Italian stylistic elements (Centurion helmets, Roman-inspired designs). Ideal as a main line in an Italian K47 list, countering Galahad or US Heavy Infantry.
