    Product details

    Background & context

    On the tabletop

The F9F Panther was Grumman's first production jet and the main fighter and ground-attack aircraft of the US Navy and Marine Corps in the Korean War, with around 78,000 sorties. It was slower than the MiG-15, yet Lieutenant Royce Williams shot down four MiGs with it in 35 minutes. In Blood Red Skies you lead this squadron of four Panthers from the carrier deck into air combat or against ground targets. The Navy's first air victory in Korea was scored by a Panther against a propeller-driven Yak-9.
