    Background & context

Anyone badly hit in Konflikt '47 suddenly has chances that did not exist in 1945. The German elite formations treat with Rift technology: energy that draws tissue together and stabilises the circulation where conventional first aid would long since have given up. The price is in no file. Some of those treated feel cold permanently, others react differently months later from the way they did before. That is why hardly any ordinary formation ever sees such a medic, only the units whose men are too valuable to write off.

    On the tabletop

In Konflikt '47 the medic with his Rift treatment device belongs to the German elite formations, where every loss hurts. You place him behind such a squad so that he can treat the wounded and keep the unit in the fight for longer. The two bodyguards with rifles protect him and help with his work. A medic like this is rare on the battlefield, because the experimental technology has side effects that not every soldier appreciates.
