Product details

Background & context

The winter of 1941/42 caught the Wehrmacht unprepared outside Moscow: greatcoats, felt boots and improvised snow camouflage reached the front only gradually. What the Landser wore was a motley mix of depot stocks, captured items and clothing gathered wherever they could find it. Exactly this lack of uniformity makes winter figures so rewarding for conversions - hardly any two models need to look the same.

On the tabletop

Six German infantrymen in winter clothing and plenty of heads, equipment and weapons come on this frame from the winter infantry set. In Bolt Action they top up squads for winter fighting on the Eastern Front, such as before Moscow in 1941/42, and provide platoon commanders or spotters. Since winter clothing at the time was a mix of depot stock and captured items, every figure can look different. Bases are not included.
