As the Germans increasingly deployed the new Rift-Tech heavy armour, fully equipped heavy Panzergrenadier formations emerged. The Heavy Armour Platoon Officer leads these elite units - he wears the same armour as his men but is equipped with lighter personal weapons. Up to two assistants accompany him for errands and radio communication to battalion HQ.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the '47 conflict universe, with the increasing use of Rift-Tech-developed heavy infantry armor, the need for complete heavy panzergrenadier units became apparent. These units support heavy tank and tank-mech battalions, often forming the spearhead of an offensive to maximize damage against defending troops. The officers of these units wear the same power armor as their troops but are equipped with lighter weapons for personal security, focusing on command and tactical coordination. The two assistants in the set handle errands between squads and secure radio contact with battalion HQ-a vital function on the often communication-disrupted battlefields of 1947.

Einsatz im Spiel

The German Heavy Armour Platoon Officer is the HQ choice for German Heavy Armour lists. The set includes the Officer in Power Armour plus two assistants/radiomen. In the game, the Officer leads Heavy Armour Platoons with Power Troopers or Steel Troopers - with Special Rules for Power Armour and HQ bonuses for the entire line. The radiomen companions allow for extended Order Dice use and coordinate anti-vehicle reactions.
