Product details

Background & context

The 185th Parachute Division Folgore, Italian for lightning, had trained for an airborne landing on Malta that never happened. Instead it was sent to North Africa in 1942 as infantry. At the Second Battle of El Alamein it held the southern sector against British attacks for days, despite lacking most heavy weapons and transport. That stand earned it the name Lions of the Folgore.

On the tabletop

The 42 plastic Paracadutisti form several paratrooper squads at the heart of your platoon, with two MMG teams and the mortar in support behind them. The AB 41 scouts ahead, and the second vehicle can be built either as a Semovente assault gun or as an M13/40 tank. Armies of Italy holds the rules and force options, while Desert Lightning and the two arm sets with improvised anti-tank weapons give your squads a way to deal with enemy vehicles.
