The Flammspinne combines the manoeuvrability of an infantryman with the armour and firepower of a heavily built armoured vehicle - and adds a devastating flamethrower. Its ability to manoeuvre through almost any terrain, incinerating entire squads as it goes, makes the Flammspinne one of the most feared Axis units in Konflikt '47.

Background & context

The "Spinne" (Spider) series of German tank mechs was born out of the need for a mobile reconnaissance vehicle for confined terrain and urban environments. The open turret allows the gunner maximum situational awareness. The "Flammenspinne" (Flame Spider) is a specialized variant that carries a flamethrower instead of the standard armament. In combination with its unique ability to move anywhere, it is particularly devastating against infantry in cover or in buildings.

On the tabletop

In Konflikt '47 the Flammspinne carries a flamethrower on four legs to places neither wheels nor tracks can reach. It comes from the Axis Spinne series and is built for a single task: burning out positions in buildings, ruins and trenches. Because it can climb over almost any terrain, it appears on a flank where the enemy does not expect it. That forces your opponent to keep anti-tank weapons close to his machine gun teams and infantry squads.
