Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

Death & the Landsknecht by Charles Singleton brings the Italian Wars to Pike & Shotte, in which the Empire, Spain, France and the Italian states fought over the peninsula. It is the era when arquebus and pike replaced medieval ways of fighting, with Landsknechts and Swiss setting the tone. With it you raise mercenary armies and play out their battles. The special figure of Richard de la Pole, who fell at Pavia in 1525, shows him in the thick of the fighting with sword and broken pike.
