Product details

Background & context

In the age of sail, the coast was the most dangerous enemy. Shoals and cliffs cost more ships than battles did, pilots were expensive and charts were often out of date. That is why lighthouses were built in numbers from the 18th century onwards, and wherever a bay was of military importance, batteries and towers were added. On the gaming table this terrain recreates exactly these constraints: whoever takes the short route sails into rocks and fields of fire.

On the tabletop

This pack turns the open sea of Black Seas into waters full of hazards. Place the rocks so captains have to navigate around them, since colliding with one is dangerous, and a ship can slip out of the enemy's view behind them. The sinking wrecks replace your own ships as they are lost in battle. Martello towers, gun batteries and the lighthouse create a coastline to attack or defend.
