Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

In Black Seas gunboats are tiny targets: hard to hit, but vulnerable when a large ship sails into them at speed. Each carries just one light cannon and cannot take upgrades, so their danger lies in numbers. Use the three boats in shallow coastal waters where large ships struggle to manoeuvre, and harass frigates from several sides. Historically they featured in Napoleon's invasion plans of 1804 and in the US Navy up to 1812.
