Background & context

At the start of 1945 the Wehrmacht was fighting on two fronts at once and had hardly any intact formations left. Whatever happened to be to hand was thrown together from tank schools, replacement battalions and newly raised divisions such as Panzer Division Clausewitz. In the East, fortress cities were meant to buy time, while on the Oder and on the Seelow Heights the last reserves dug in. In Berlin itself, at the end, Volkssturm and Hitler Youth stood among the ruins.

On the tabletop

This book lets you field German forces of the last months of the war, from January to May 1945, in Flames of War on both the Western and Eastern Fronts. It contains eight formations, among them companies of the Clausewitz Panzer Division with Panthers, StuGs and Panzersturm troops, training companies with heavy tanks, plus paratroopers and a battle group for the defence of Berlin. Two missions, expanded night fighting rules and a painting guide complete the volume.
