Product details

Background & context

Armies of the United States: Third Edition covers US forces for Bolt Action in its third edition. The official description links the army book with US infantry, artillery, vehicles, and other units. James "Jake" McNiece was a famous US Airborne soldier; the special miniature shows him in a winter uniform with a Thompson SMG. This makes the set particularly suitable for the context of the later stages of the war and the Battle of the Bulge.

On the tabletop

The US army book for Bolt Action, third edition, covers every arm across 112 colour pages, from infantry and artillery to vehicles, with national special rules and background. From it you build a playable American army out of your figures. The included figure shows James 'Jake' McNiece, leader of the Filthy Thirteen, in winter uniform with a Thompson. That makes him a particularly good fit for a Battle of the Bulge force, for example paratroopers around Bastogne.
