    Product details

    Background & context

USS Missouri was a member of the Iowa class, the fast American battleships of the late war period. She was the last battleship commissioned by the US and is particularly known as the site of the Japanese surrender. Iowa-class ships combined high speed with heavy artillery and remained in service long after World War II. Missouri was not finally decommissioned until 1992.

    On the tabletop

The USS Missouri is a fast Iowa-class battleship, the last one the USA commissioned. In Victory at Sea she belongs in late-war American fleets, where she escorts carrier groups, supports landings such as Iwo Jima and Okinawa with shore bombardment and uses her anti-aircraft guns against air attack. Japan signed its surrender on her deck on 2 September 1945. The model is resin with metal parts and needs assembly.
