Background & context

HMS Warspite was a Queen Elizabeth-class battleship and served in the First World War. After modernization in the 1930s, she was extensively used again in the Second World War. Among other engagements, she fought in the Norwegian Campaign, in the Mediterranean, and later supported landing operations in Italy and Northwest Europe. Her long service and numerous battle honours made her one of the most famous ships of the Royal Navy.

On the tabletop

HMS Warspite, a Queen Elizabeth-class battleship, already fought at Jutland and was modernised in the 1930s. In Victory at Sea you use her in the Norwegian campaign of 1940, against the Regia Marina in the Mediterranean or in 1944 for gunfire support at the Normandy landings and at Walcheren. No ship of the Royal Navy earned more battle honours, and her crews called her the Grand Old Lady.
