Background & context

While the Axis worked on Rift creatures and the Western Allies on armoured suits, Moscow took a third path and mixed ursine DNA into its own serum programmes. The result is man-bear hybrids around eight feet tall that can physically match the heaviest German creatures. Keeping them under control is a matter of discipline and luck, which is why they are used where there is nothing left to lose anyway. They are moved by lorry, and five Ursus fit on one.

On the tabletop

Three metal Ursus give your Soviet army in Konflikt '47 a small, hard-hitting close-combat unit. Bonding man with the Siberian brown bear produces soldiers some eight feet tall who can match the heaviest Axis Rift creatures physically. They are deployed in small squads for fighting at the closest quarters. Send them deliberately against units such as the Schreckwulfen, which they were developed to counter.
