Background & context

Osceola war kein geborener Häuptling, sondern stieg im Widerstand gegen die Zwangsumsiedlung nach Westen zum wichtigsten Kopf der Seminolen auf. Im Zweiten Seminolenkrieg ab 1835 zwang er die US-Armee in einen Kleinkrieg, den sie in den Sümpfen Floridas kaum gewinnen konnte; 1837 wurde er unter einer Parlamentärsflagge festgesetzt und starb in Haft. Tuko-See-Mathla gehörte zu den Anführern, die auf Verhandlung und Umsiedlung setzten.

On the tabletop

Osceola and Tuko-See-Mathla lead your Seminoles in the Second Seminole War from 1835 in Black Powder. They are best played on a table full of swamp and thicket, where your warriors attack from cover and then pull back again. Osceola was the leading figure of resistance to forced removal, while Tuko-See-Mathla favoured negotiation, a contrast that works well in scenarios. Both figures are metal.
