Product details

Background & context

In the Crimean War, the Ottoman Empire fought alongside Great Britain and France against Russia. Ottoman troops defended important fortresses and supply lines, forming a central part of the Allied war effort. The army was in a phase of reform, but remained very differently organized and equipped regionally.

On the tabletop

With these four command figures you put leadership on a battalion of your Ottoman infantry in the Crimean War for Black Powder, and can pick it out at once in the fighting. Historically Ottoman troops struggled with the same supply problems and harsh conditions as their British and French allies. Depending on their leadership, units performed very differently, in the middle of the Tanzimat reforms. The figures are metal.
