Product details

Background & context

In the Crimean War, the Ottoman Empire fought alongside Great Britain and France against Russia. Ottoman troops defended important fortresses and supply lines and formed a central part of the Allied war effort. The army was in a phase of reform but remained very differently organized and equipped regionally.

On the tabletop

Eight Ottoman infantrymen represent regular line troops for the Crimean War in Black Powder. The Ottoman army was in the middle of modernising at the time and fought alongside the British and French against Russia. For Balaclava you use them to man the redoubts on the Causeway Heights that took the first Russian attack. Several packs let you build larger units or an Ottoman contingent for your allied army.
