    Product details

    Background & context

The P-47 from Republic Aviation first flew in 1941 and reached Europe from 1943 as an escort fighter for the heavy bombers. With its radial engine and turbocharger it was fast and took hits that other fighters would not have survived. From 1944 it became best known for ground attack, when its bombs, rockets and guns smashed German columns in France. More than 15,000 were built, more than any other American fighter.

    On the tabletop

You use the Thunderbolt as a fighter-bomber that supports ground troops from the air and attacks vehicles, positions or supply routes. The real aircraft carried eight heavy machine guns plus bombs or rockets and could absorb a lot of fire. In Brickskrieg you fly it under the simplified aircraft rules as sturdy help for your ground troops.
