Product details

Background & context

The M4 Sherman was the standard US Army tank from 1942, built in huge numbers and valued as reliable and easy to maintain. It faced the Panzer IV, the German workhorse, whose gun grew longer as the war went on. The bazooka reached American troops in 1942, and the Germans answered with the larger Panzerschreck. Both fired hollow-charge rockets and made infantry a real danger to tanks.

On the tabletop

The box makes two sides. The Americans field two infantry squads, a bazooka team and three M4 Sherman, the Germans two infantry squads, a Panzerschreck team and three Panzer IV. The Shermans are the mobile backbone of the US side, while bazooka and Panzerschreck give the infantry a weapon against tanks. A quick-start rules booklet, dice, measuring aids and reference cards are included so that you can play right after building.
