Product details

Background & context

The Bazooka began as the M1 and was developed into the M9 and M9A1: a tube carried on the shoulder and a rocket with a shaped charge. Two soldiers formed the team, one aiming and firing, the other reloading. American troops used it in Normandy, in the Ardennes and against bunkers in the Pacific. It spared the infantry from waiting for artillery or aircraft when tanks appeared.

On the tabletop

The Bazooka teams make your US infantry a threat to tanks. The weapon is cheap, the teams are mobile and shoot further than riflemen in close combat. Light and medium tanks quickly fall victim to them, but against the thickest armour even the shaped charge fails. Since they have no armour protection, they stay close to cover.
