    Background & context

    The Junkers Ju 87 first flew in 1935 and gained its experience in the Spanish Civil War with the Legion Condor. Its bent wings and the siren, the "Jericho Trumpet", made it the symbol of the Blitzkrieg in Poland in 1939 and France in 1940. In the Battle of Britain it suffered heavy losses because it was slow and easy for fighters to hit. After that it flew for years as a ground attack aircraft on the Eastern Front and in the Mediterranean.

    On the tabletop

    With the Stuka you attack ground targets such as tanks, positions and troop concentrations in a dive. In Brickskrieg it acts as air support for German armies of the Blitzkrieg years, and its place is the attack on an opponent without fighters of his own. Because of its low speed it stays vulnerable to enemy fighter aircraft.
