    Product details

    Background & context

The Sd.Kfz. 250 joined the Wehrmacht in the late 1930s as a light armoured personnel carrier, meant to give staffs and scout teams of the armoured formations protection and mobility. It took a small squad and was built in many versions, including radio vehicle, observation vehicle and carrier for an anti-tank gun. It ran on all fronts from Poland in 1939 to the end of the war. Together with the larger Sd.Kfz. 251 it formed the backbone of the German panzergrenadiers.

    On the tabletop

With the Sd.Kfz. 250 you get small squads to the front quickly, while its machine guns support them on the way. It is lighter and more nimble than larger armoured personnel carriers and suits scouts, command teams and panzergrenadiers. The open hull protects only against light weapons, so you do better keeping it behind the front.
