    Product details

    Background & context

The infantry of the German army relied on the Karabiner 98k rifle and machine guns. Alongside the ordinary Wehrmacht divisions stood the Waffen-SS, paratroopers, mountain troops and the Panzergrenadiere, who advanced motorised with the armoured formations. The Volkssturm, drawn from civilians, was only called up near the end of the war. These formations fought from 1939 in Poland, later in France, North Africa and the Soviet Union, and finally in the defence of the Reich.

    On the tabletop

On the German side these riflemen carry most engagements. They fight infantry in firefights, endanger vehicles in close combat and occupy buildings as positions. Air attacks and heavy fire threaten them, and in large numbers they are hard to hide. From the bricks you build regular Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS or Fallschirmjäger as you wish.
