Product details

Background & context

From the mid-1930s the 8 cm Granatwerfer 34 was the standard mortar of the Wehrmacht infantry. It consisted of a smoothbore tube of 81 mm calibre, a bipod and a base plate. The crew dropped high-explosive, smoke or illumination rounds into the tube from above. From Poland in 1939 to the fighting for Berlin in 1945 it was part of the battalions' equipment.

On the tabletop

These mortars give your German army reach without you having to field guns. They stand under cover, shell infantry, guns and transports over long distances and barely trouble heavy tanks. The manufacturer offers artillery add-on rules for the Simple Rules that go with them.
