    Product details

    Background & context

British infantry fought in sections of about ten men whose firepower rested on the Bren light machine gun, backed by the Lee-Enfield rifle and the Sten submachine gun. Alongside the regular line infantry stood paratroopers, Commandos and Gurkha battalions, and at home the Home Guard. These formations fought in France in 1940, then in North Africa and Italy, and from 1944 in Normandy.

    On the tabletop

This unit is the core of any British force. The riflemen engage enemy infantry and go after vehicles with grenades. Buildings and cover protect them, while air attacks and heavy fire hurt them. How the soldiers look is up to you when building: with other brick colours and weapons you get line infantry, paratroopers, Commandos or Gurkhas.
