    Product details

    Background & context

The Hurricane first flew in 1935 and joined the Royal Air Force in 1937, as its first fighter with an enclosed cockpit and retractable undercarriage. In the Battle of Britain in 1940 it fielded more aircraft than the Spitfire and shot down most of the German aircraft claimed. Its rugged construction was easy to repair and made it a stable gun platform. Later it flew in North Africa, Burma and the Soviet Union, partly as a fighter-bomber with rockets or cannon.

    On the tabletop

You put the Hurricane on the table as air support for British armies of the early war years. The real aircraft carried eight machine guns in its wings and was effective against bombers and ground targets. Brickskrieg has simplified aircraft rules, so you can fly the model over the battlefield without learning a separate air combat system.
