    Product details

    Background & context

The Cromwell reached the British armoured divisions in 1944 and replaced the cruiser tanks of the early war years. Its Rolls-Royce Meteor engine, a development of the Merlin from the Spitfire, made it exceptionally fast. Its first major action came in Normandy in the summer of 1944, followed by the advance through Belgium and the Netherlands into northern Germany. It stayed outclassed by heavy German tanks, but as a scout and pursuit tank it was in high demand.

    On the tabletop

In Brickskrieg the Cromwell is your fast tank for British armies. Its speed lets you swing round flanks, exploit gaps in the enemy line and threaten positions from behind. The real tank carried a 75 mm gun and can hold its own against medium tanks. Against heavy opponents it is better kept out of the front line.
