Background & context

On 6 June 1944 the British 2nd Army landed at Gold and Sword Beach; hard weeks around Caen followed, then the breakout at Falaise and the advance to Brussels and Antwerp. In the autumn came Market Garden, in the winter the fighting for the Reichswald area, in March 1945 the Rhine crossing at Wesel. The infantry wore the 1937 pattern webbing and the Turtle helmet, and their section was organised around the Bren gun.

On the tabletop

This set supplies 48 unpainted figures in 1:76 of British infantry officers and riflemen as they fought in North West Europe from June 1944. They carry the Lee-Enfield, the Sten and the Bren. Because the British section was built around its Bren, the machine gun belongs at the centre of every group. Scenes from the Normandy beaches through the bocage hedgerows to the Rhine are within reach, on the gaming table as well as in a diorama.
