Product details

Background & context

The typical Norseman did not fight with the two-handed sword of the films but with spear and round shield: cheap, effective and available to anyone. The axe was tool and weapon at once, while the sword remained a mark of rank and wealth. Whoever stood in the host brought what he owned, and it is exactly this mixture that makes a Viking warband convincing on the gaming table.

On the tabletop

Twelve heads, eight round shields, five spears, four axes in two sizes, two bows with quivers, a horn, plus swords and arms make up this Viking weapon frame. Use it to replace lost parts, arm the warriors of your Hail Caesar warband as you choose or build conversions. Spear and round shield for the mass, axes for some and swords for men of rank reflect what a war band really brought to battle.
