Product details

Background & context

The Marine Corps formed its own amphibious tractor battalions, which carried the first waves ashore in every major Pacific landing. On Saipan, Tinian and Guam in the summer of 1944 the LVTs crossed the reefs and in places dropped their troops well inland. After the assault they shuttled between ships and beach, bringing ammunition, water and rations and taking the wounded back.

On the tabletop

One Marine stands in the cargo bay at the vehicle weapon, while the other crouches on the edge, looking towards the beach. With the stowage in place your LVT looks like a vehicle bringing supplies into the beachhead. Place it at the waterline among beach obstacles while the infantry is already pushing inland. In Bolt Action this crews a transport for your Marine Corps force.
