Product details

Background & context

The 82nd and 101st Airborne jumped behind the beaches of Normandy on the night leading into 6 June 1944 to secure bridges and road junctions. Having landed widely scattered, the paratroopers formed themselves into improvised battle groups, and Sainte-Mère-Église and Carentan became the first names to their credit. Market Garden followed in September and the defence of Bastogne in the winter of 1944. The US airborne programme had begun in 1940 with a test platoon of 50 men.

On the tabletop

With 48 unpainted figures in 1:76 you can field American paratroopers of the Second World War. The 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions jumped in the night before the Normandy landings, came down widely scattered and often regrouped in mixed bands. That suggests scenes at hedgerows, bridges and crossroads. On the gaming table they go well with 1:76 vehicles and suit small actions behind enemy lines.
