    Background & context

    US infantry formed the backbone of the American forces in World War II, fighting in Europe and the Pacific. Equipped with the M1 Garand, the BAR, and Bazooka anti-tank weapons, the GIs represented a powerful and versatile fighting force. Especially in Normandy, North Africa, and Western Europe, US infantrymen played a decisive role in the liberation of occupied Europe. The interaction of infantry, support weapons, and leadership is reflected in the diverse composition of this set.

    On the tabletop

    The 188 figures in 12 mm are enough for a complete US infantry company in which every figure stands for one soldier. The 80 riflemen and 20 NCOs form the squads, and each squad gets a BAR gunner. The .30 cal teams and mortar crews go behind the line as the weapons platoon, while you spread the bazooka teams across the platoons to deal with tanks. Officers, radio teams, snipers and ammunition carriers complete the force for Second World War actions.
