Product details

Background & context

The 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions jumped behind the coastal positions of Normandy on the night leading into 6 June 1944. Anti-aircraft fire and banks of cloud tore the formations apart, many sticks landed kilometres from their objective, and whole companies only found each other again days later. The men banded together into mixed groups and took Sainte-Mère-Église and the causeways near Carentan all the same. A small tin clicker served them as a recognition signal in the dark.

On the tabletop

With these 48 American paratroopers in 1:72 scale you can portray the 82nd or 101st Airborne Division in Normandy. In the night before 6 June 1944 many men landed far from their objectives and fought on in mixed groups. Such scratch teams form your units on a 20 mm gaming table, for example around Sainte-Mère-Église or on the causeways near Carentan. Paints are bought separately.
