Product details

Background & context

After 1945 the vehicle remained in service, and from 1956 France went on building it under licence as the Hotchkiss M201, which stayed with the units there for decades more. At the same time farmers, foresters and fire brigades discovered the vehicle for themselves, and the civilian offshoot grew into a whole class of vehicle. The off-road vehicle as we know it today has its origin here.

On the tabletop

In 1:35 the jeep and trailer make a model for the display cabinet and the diorama, being too large for gaming tables. The engine is detailed, a driver figure is included, and you can show the vehicle with or without its top. You can choose between the marking of a British vehicle of the Royal Ulster Rifles and that of an American one, both from Normandy in June 1944. Add more figures and cargo of your own and it becomes a small roadside scene.
