    Background & context

    On the tabletop

With eight Browning guns in the wings and the Merlin engine, the RAF went into the summer of 1940 on the Mk.Ia. The two marking options are almost a year apart: an aircraft of No. 611 Squadron at Duxford in autumn 1939 and one of No. 222 Squadron at Hornchurch during the Battle of Britain. With 149 parts and a 232 mm wingspan, 1:48 gives enough room to paint the cockpit and codes with care. Next to a Hurricane you can display both British fighters of that summer.
