Product details

Background & context

With the F series the Bf 109 gained rounded wingtips, a smoother engine cowling and a retractable tailwheel from 1941, so it is no wonder that many pilots described it as the best-flying variant. The F-4 had the DB 601 E and a 20 mm cannon firing through the propeller hub. Over the Channel, in North Africa with Marseille and in the attack on the Soviet Union, the Friedrich was the backbone of the fighter wings in 1941 and 1942 before the heavier G series replaced it.

On the tabletop

The rounded wingtips and retractable tailwheel identify the Bf 109F, which flew over the Channel, in North Africa and in the East in 1941 and 1942. This 1:72 starter set brings 30 parts, one Luftwaffe marking, acrylic paints, glue and a brush. That lets you build and paint the model without buying anything else. As 1:72 suits 20 mm figures, the finished aircraft can also join an Eastern Front gaming table.
