Background & context

Mit der K-4 zog Messerschmitt die zerfaserte Variantenvielfalt der G-Reihe wieder zusammen: ein DB 605 D mit Methanol-Wasser-Einspritzung, eine durch die Propellernabe feuernde 3-cm-Kanone und ein vereinheitlichter Rumpf. In der Leistung war sie den späten Spitfires gewachsen, doch der Luftwaffe fehlten am Ende hochwertiger Sprit und erfahrene Piloten. Von den mehr als 33.000 gebauten Bf 109 entfiel nur ein kleiner Teil auf diese letzte Serienversion.

On the tabletop

Kit, decals, acrylic paints, a brush and glue all come in this starter set for the 1:72 Bf 109 K-4. The K-4 was the last production version of the Bf 109, with a 3 cm cannon firing through the propeller hub. Three markings are offered, from November 1944 and from 1945, including aircraft from Neuruppin and from Prague. The small fighter lets you practise gluing, masking and painting, and afterwards it stands in the display cabinet.
