Product details

Background & context

The three versions provided for in the kit cover three roles: the A5 was the pure fighter version with a lengthened engine mount, the A8 received heavier armament and additional armour for the fight against the bomber streams, and the F8 was the armoured ground-attack variant with weapon racks under the fuselage and wings. The Fw 190's air-cooled radial engine could take considerably more hits than a water-cooled inline engine.

On the tabletop

Before the first drop of glue you decide whether this starter set becomes an Fw 190 A5, A8 or F8. The A5 was the fighter version, the A8 carried heavier weapons and extra armour against bombers, and the F8 was built for ground attack. To match, the decals include one marking each from Husum, from Bad Aibling and from Piacenza in Italy. Acrylic paints, a brush and glue are included, and the finished aircraft then goes into your display cabinet.
