The Spider combines the agility of an infantryman with the armour and firepower of an armoured vehicle - making it the nearly perfect reconnaissance vehicle for confined terrain and urban combat zones. The open turret allows for maximum situational awareness and gives the commander the control he needs in rapidly changing combat situations.

Background & context

The Spinne is the baseline version of the German arachnid-tank mech family, developed for reconnaissance and infantry combat in difficult terrain. Its ability to maneuver through obstacles that would block conventional vehicles makes it unique in the German arsenal. Its most important feature is the open turret, which allows the gunner to engage in both close-quarters combat and anti-aircraft operations, significantly increasing its versatility.

On the tabletop

The Spinne is the light Axis reconnaissance panzermech in Konflikt '47: as nimble as a foot soldier, yet protected and armed like a heavy armoured car. On four legs it climbs through ruins, woods and narrow streets. The open turret holds the included gunner, who has all-round vision and keeps watch on the sky as well. Send it ahead to find the enemy and secure the flanks. All later Spinne variants derive from this basic version.
