Background & context

Die sowjetische Schützenkompanie war auf Feuerkraft aus wenigen Grundtypen gebaut: Mosin-Nagant-Gewehr, PPSch-Maschinenpistole und das wassergekühlte Maxim als schweres MG. Dazu kamen 50-mm- und 82-mm-Granatwerfer für die eigene indirekte Unterstützung sowie Panzerbüchsen gegen leichte Fahrzeuge. Politoffiziere gehörten fest zum Bild, ebenso die Panzerreiter, die auf den T-34 aufsaßen und am Ziel absprangen. Ab 1943 trug diese Gliederung die großen Offensiven bis nach Berlin.

On the tabletop

With 174 figures in 12 mm you can field a Soviet rifle company complete with its heavy weapons. Riflemen and submachine gunners form the platoons, while Maxim teams and light machine guns give them firepower. The 50 mm and 82 mm mortars fire over cover, and the anti-tank rifles stop light vehicles. Officers, commissars, radio operators and flag bearers lead the company, and the six tank riders go on a T-34 that carries them to the objective.
