    Am 24. Mai 1941 brauchte die Bismarck in der Dänemarkstraße keine zehn Minuten, um die Hood zu versenken - 1.415 Mann, drei Überlebende. Danach war die Jagd Ehrensache: Die Royal Navy zog Schlachtschiffe, Kreuzer und den Träger Ark Royal aus dem halben Atlantik zusammen. Als die Bismarck nach 31 Stunden verloren schien, fand sie eine Catalina wieder, ein Swordfish-Torpedo blockierte das Ruder, und am Morgen des 27. Mai schossen King George V und Rodney den Koloss zum Wrack. Nur 115 der über 2.200 Mann Besatzung überlebten.

    On the tabletop

    With seven ships in 1:1200 you can recreate the hunt for the Bismarck in May 1941. On the German side are the Bismarck and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, on the British side the battlecruiser HMS Hood, the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal, the cruiser HMS Suffolk and HMS Cossack with a second Tribal class destroyer. The 297 parts are rated skill level 2. Eight acrylic paints, cement, two brushes, a decal sheet and an instruction booklet with painting reference come in the box. At this small scale all the ships can be displayed together while the difference in size between battleship, carrier and destroyer stays clear.
